Run the wires to the trunk light...this way you don't need an extra switch...it will act with the existing trunk light.stolibears said:2 questions though,
1) What would wire the lights too?
2) Where is the switch that operates the lights?
yeah for real ask him if he did a DIY and tell him to share it cause i so would want that in my caroc_civic said:they look custom because of the little locks.. if they were oem they would more than likely be the honda key.. none the less clean install.. i would not mind having something like that..
with the board that you showed.. how sturdy would it be?Beelzebubba said:Hardboard is pretty light compared to MDF it's only 1/8th or 3/16ths thick
the board under your trunk covering your spare is a type of hardboard although it's a fairly soft version. There are stronger variants availiable
Some people call it masonite....you know, like those brown clipboards are made out of. It's real stiff. You can get a sheet about 3'x6'x1/8th" for about $5 and you'll probably need a piece of 1"x1" pine to frame it up.
That's what I'm thinking anyway. Of the whole set up, the carpet and lock would be the most expensive parts. Hinge, hardware, hardboard, and 1" pine would come in under $10 at Home Depot
MDF would be stronger though. 1/2 MDF is gonna be heavy. Like another sub enclosure
