if i go to redline on 30 percent throttle itll hit boost and go to redline fine. but when i press the gas any more it just sputters at whatever rpm im at. it does the same thing on idle. my car is running really rich.

thanks

Steven.

i got the ecu already chipped with the kit....i think its neptune but im not 100% sure. when i first got the car running it hit boost during full throttle. the car is running very rich and im almost sure its because of the tune. my fuel pressure is at 52 psi at idle...

i didnt log the car yet...i want to get it dyno tuned as soon as possible. the car is running very rich. i put new plugs in 2 days ago and they are already all black. i drove the car for about 10 miles in total. if i go partial throttle(under 50%) it will hit boost fine and go to redline. if i go full throttle it just sputters at whatever rpm im at. it does this even at idle. im sure its because the car is running rich and it needs a proper tune. i just want to make sure thats the problem.
i pressure tested the sysetm and the car does have a boost leak. the system wont hold more than 8psi. it loses pressure as soon as i stop filling air in the system. i think that also may be part of my problem.

Yea man, sounds like it needs a tune..but i didnt see how much your boosting.. im sure you know OE Map can read 11-12psi.. you might have to put in a check if your boosting over that.

im only running 11lbs. when i go partial throttle i can get it to 7psi. i want to gupgrade my map sensor soon. my new plugs are already fouled out!!!! so im pretty convinced it the tune.

+1 ^^ and right after 50% throttle which that is the part that need most attn. At least its rich! if it were lean you would have an entirely different thread on here!

Good luck with it man :drive:

Why is the fuel pressure so high? Is the ignition timing set to spec? How old are the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor?

On boosted cars, you need a higher pressure.. Mine is 54lbs on idle, spikes at 60-62 during revs

Seems like the map you're currently on is running in limp mode. Most of the time when you're in a limp mode map, it'll sputter like crap at WOT only because you're NOT suppose to be in WOT. This map is most likely for you to drive your car safely to your tuner without f**king s**t up.

Seems like 1) your ecu might be in limp mode, 2) your map sensor is freaking out ( missing link will fix this, or a 3 bar map sensor ) and just curious how you did a boost leak test? Are you referring to a leak down test?

missing link = fail. get it tuned right or dont waste money

so much misinformation. there is no limp mode on an obd1 ecu. you dont use a missing link with a chipped ecu, thats if you have a stock ecu with a piggyback, and if you run that you are doing it wrong. a missing link is a check valve the blocks the map sensor from seeing boost. a stock ecu has no mapping for boost so if it sees positive pressure from the map sensor it freaks out.

you need to get the car tuned asap. it runs like crap because you put a turbo on the car and a random map on a neptune(maybe) chipped ecu.

turbo cars dont need higher fuel pressure. you need properly sized injectors and stock fuel pressure is perfectly adequate. in some occasions higher fuel pressures are in demand but i wont get into that.

what injectors are in the car? what fuel pump is in the car? more info on the setup would be helpful.
