Turbo and A/c Question(I already searched)

I know i will probably remove my A/c so I can turbo my car, but I was wondering if you take out your A/c unit can I still have Heat?

I'm not worried about air conditioning because I never use it anyways, but I really want to keep heat for winter.

I would appreciate it if someone could answer this.

if you remove a/c you still have heat, they are 2 separate things. and no, you dont have to remove a/c to have turbo- just make sure to contact the manufacturer of your manifold and downpipe to ensure they are a/c compatable.

I have one more quick question.

Do you know of a good a/c compatible manifold and downpipe for a T3 internally wastegated turbo for a D16Z6?

I also am going to get a 2.5 inch downpipe.

I like the Revhard Manifold, but it is for an externally wastegated turbo.

go to turbokits.com and see which kits are a/c compatible and base your decision off of that

I've been there and a lot of other websites but didn't find anything.

I am going to make a custom kit.

I like the revhard manifold, is there a way I can plug the flange for the wastegate because my turbo is internally wastegated.

I was also wondering if the Drag downpipe is any good?

drag makes a great a/c compatible manifold. but i would get a custom downpipe to go with it, not the A/C compatible dp. also neukin makes a ramhorn style a/c compatible manifold. thats the one ill be running on my setup. if i didnt live in arizona i would remove my a/c but 120 temperatures all day in summer w/ no a/c is murder

drag manifolds are quite possibly the WORST manifold on the market. they have the poorest wastegate placment, and they are prone to cracking.

i never had a problem with my manifold. its worked great on a friends b18c until he wrecked it. i havent used it since. the nuekin manifold is $600+ but still worth it if you want to keep a/c

what was your question? plugging the flange for an external wastegate? yes there are fittings so you can plug that up. i tried to search for some but came up with nothing. but they do make them. you can probably get one custom made at an exhaust shop

I really like his setup, as you can see he still has his ac(That is a dirty ass engine bay  )

I would like to know what manifold he used.(It looks like it is for an internally wastegated turbo)
I would like a cast log style manifold like his.

Although I havent put everything back together..the kit will be ac compatible in the end.

If you look at the 6th pic down, it explains all. First off the manifold is the log style by GReddy. And the turbo is gt28r by garrett and yes its internally wastegated. As you can see the downpipe will come out on the drivers side, and though it looks extremely close to the ac component, it will clear. I cant tell you what will work for your car, you just have READ alot and research. It also depends on what you want in the end...for instance im using a 2.5" downpipe and 3" WONT work..so its up to you, this post is merely a guide and an example of itd being done, hope this helps =)

Where can I get a Greddy manifold, and will it fit a T3 turbo?

This is my T3 turbo(Compresser .42 A/R, and turbine housing .48 A/R)

Off topic, but what rims are these.

you can get an adapter plate to make it fit, search the classifieds on honda-tech and on ebay

You can search the classifieds / ebay for a greddy manifold, but you do not necessarily need that exact manifold and even if you did, im not sure it would work, because my turbo was different than yours. Plus ontop of that, it depends on which way you face your exhaust housing (you can have the downpipe on the left or the right - the left just worked better for me). Ultimately like I said, it really depends on your setup, but im sure that any log manifold would work just fine, its the ramhorn styles, etc, when people typically run into downpipe / ac fitment issues. And to ensure that the log manifold would bolt to your turbo, first you can search for one that can be a direct bolt on..just make sure the outlet flange of the manifold matches the inlet on teh turbo..or if that doenst work for you, you can always do what shiznit said and get an adapter plate...good luck with the build and dont worry, i had plenty of questions when putting together my kit :P
