Turbo/boost question

I have a d16y7 engine on a 99 civic ex with this turbo kit.

It's pushin 5lbs boost now just got my boost controller in the mail how high is a safe number to crank it up too without lesson up anything?

Cranking up boost without tuning isn't safe at all

Without fuel mods and a tune, leave it alone. I wouldn't even build boost now if it isnt tuned at all. More over, I wouldn't push it tuned with an A/F gauge to monitor what is actually going on when you're ripping on it.

We need more details on your setup, not to mention that the kit listed doesn't even say what turbo comes with it. It looks small as hell though.

edit: with .24 seconds on google, it looks like a BB T28, again little info as there is no a/r ratio even listed or to choose from. So Im guessing it spools stupid quick even on a single slammer y8.

New to turbos just bought the car so bare with me if I make a stupid comment or question lol, I just got a boost gauge hooked up so I should get an air and fuel gauge as well?

So I needa get fuel mods as well? Like what? And can any old mechanic shop tune cars or does it have to be a specialty shop?

Usually a specific "performance " shop

You need an ecu that's chipped so you can tune it

Fuel mods:
Better pump
Larger injectors

And yes you need a wife and air/fuel gauge as well as boost gauge, two completely different things

Also I can't believe I'm saying this, but that kit was designed to go to 7 so you can adjust your waste gate actuator arm to build 7lbs. Youtube. But given what I've heard I wouldn't do it

I thought the edelbrock comes piggybacked for it's components just like the greddy kits? I'ts not an optimal tune but safe out of the box
