hey peeps.
so i am turboing my d series. just waiting on some parts to come in the mail and it should be boosted by mid april at the latest.
I will be running a
Garrett t28 turbo rebuilt with dual turbines
HF Manifold
2.5" charge piping
2.5" dp
31x12x3 SIS Black intercooler
WS2 catback
Blitz DD Bov
p28 ecu (ectune basemap right now but tuned on chrome since my tuner has no ectune license)
dsm blacktop injectors (dual spray),
walbro 255lhp,
phereable obd2b->obd1 harness
probably some Defi blue gauges since my interior is blue led lit.
it will be dyno tuned in Chicago by Mikey of ProFunction (formerly of Factory Five Motoring)
my question is the following however.
right now i have money to have it professionally installed and dyno tuned. I will be running only 8psi on the T28 so i have no worries about my motor blowing up. it had 190 compression across the board. timing belt kit done about 500miles ago. my dilemma is that I have some extra money available in the form of a credit card. enough to lets say do a full forged internals.
Should i just do it all the first time around. my plan was to build the d series eventually so should i just get it done all at once. i was thinking piston and rods since the head is pretty strong. not sure if i want the vitara setup or other like arias or je. i also have a stock clutch which prob wont last long so these are my options.
1. Garrett T28 8psi on stock D series block/head stock clutch (have money for this)
2. Garrett T28 8psi on stock D series block/head w. aftermarket clutch (would need about 300 more)
2. Garrett T28 ?psi on built D series block/stock head w. aftermarket clutch (would need about 1200 more)
or should i spend money instead in upgrading other parts like mani, throttle body, intake manifold
so stick with the planned stock d boosted. or accrue some debt and build it while i am at it?
