I got about 1000$ saved up right now, I was gonna lower my car on struts, Springs with rotas. But my freinds keep telling me make it faster. I was thinking about Nitrous but the turbo is always running. Is there any kits or setups you would recommend. I would be running it on stock internals but im hoping around 200HP. thanks

i wouldnt even consider any kind of FI before youve upgraded your suspension. IMHO you were on the right track with the drop and struts first.

its personal preference really. your car will be fine, maybe some traction problems, with out suspension. you can build your own turbo kit for around 1000$, just dont rush into buying things cuz you almost always find better deals after you bought it. im at around 1000$ right now and im done, but i also got both my turbos for 100$

I spent less than $700. the only cheap crap i got was the Denso BOV, but that has since been replaced by a SSQV

DEFINETLY TURBO it...its well worth is...plus you get that cool pshhh sound haha just kidding, but ditto on the cheap building your own kit, if you know what you are doing it is relatively inexpensive, there are so many things on here and also check out homemadeturbo or turbod16

[cough] didn't shop for his own parts.[/cough]

oh and who cares about the suspension. you only have to worry about the suspension if youre drag racing (from a dig) or autocrossing.

its not hard to find the parts or gather the money (money is still easier for some than others). the hardest part is having the patients to wait to find the right parts and gather money. i know of people putting whole turbo kits together for just over $500 and being able to run high 13's. i also know of people spending almost $1300 on parts and being able to run low 13's. it just takes patients.

patience

but yes, it takes time. there are always good deals that come around, you just have to find them

Reason I said go turbo is because you said something about getting wheels.. Man, unless you're in need of tires, then f**k some new wheels. If i hadnt had 3/4 f**ked tires, I would still be on hubs or some cheap ass wheels..

2 years? ouch!

first kit of mine was about exactly 1 year. second kit about a month. third setup looks like it going to be about a month as well. motor build probably 4 months. ive been spending like crazy lately

well i cant say that it hasnt been worth it. ive learned everything i need to know and what i need to do with detail. i must say if i had gone out and bought everything at once, i probably would have blown my motor by now.
