Ok so after I got my block tested degreased and it's back on the stand. I got my head ported and polished. Ok so what I'm wondering. With a stock block, which would be the best rod and piston set up to use without change bore size on the block, for a turbo build with 10-15 lbs of boost. Or if you have any suggestions on building a decent D16 boosted long block let me know thanks guys.

Vitara pistons and eagle rods. You'll be good to go with that set up.

What are your HP goals? Dont base it off PSI, becase PSI depends on the size of the turbo. Stock D-Series internals are good to about 200whp. Ive seen some hit upwards to 250whp, but thats with a REALY good tune.

It also depends on what your budget is.

x2, if you have a budget with around 400 you can get a really good deal from FJT

They have black friday deals (today only) i think it is eagle h beams and vitaras for 399 shipped or something like that...

http://www.fjdistributors.com/

You might have to call or something to see if you can get the discounted price, im not too sure..

That will give you a really low CR though, i think maybe lower than 8:5, but thousands of people run that setup.. if you got your block tested then what was your p2w clearance/ because you need to know what size pistons to go with

stock bore is 75mm. i really suggest you go 75.5 if your using vitara pistons. yes you do have to have it bored, but it will be much more quiet

Care to elaborate on this?

chances are that his 75mm stock bore block isnt really 75mm. its got miles on it so its a little larger. i suggest going 75.5 because then you have a true 75.5mm cylinder bore. this will give you a tighter piston to wall (p2w) clearance thus less noisy vitara pistons :D

Ah, gotcha. Makes sense now. I'll keep that in mind as Im building my turbo D16 this winter. =)

Wow thanks guys for all the responses. I'm looking 275-300 hp nothing crazy. I really want a fun built daily driver/ weekend race deal. I'm not looking to change bore size but willIng to get block and bearing cap notched for new internals. I'm really new with internal specs. Is high or low compression better for a turbo set up especially on a sohc. Considering it's has less fine tuning capabilities. I saw the other thread about the d16 high comp build which he did a great job, very clean and solid I'm looking to do the same. I'm getting a chase bays harness and a chipped ecu ( any advice one that would be great to) I just want this to be clean and done right but efficient. Thanks alot guys.

i usually hate when people asked to be spoon fed, but im in a good mood so ima help you out

get your rods and pistons from fjt distributers
get converson harness from speedfactoryracing.net
get map sensor from speedfactoryracing.net
pick a good tuning software...i suggest hondata s300
compression with regular eagle rods on vitara pistons is going to be super low. the lower the compression the more safe it is to add boost. just because you have a built bottom end dosent make it fast. it allows the motor to take more abuse.

i myself have a fully built y8. i made 430whp and drive the s**t out of it.

You would want a low compression build since your adding forced induction. 9.1:1 - 9.3:1 would be more ideal.
Crower makes a cam for your D and has a stage 1 built for turbo'd D's. since your head is P&P might as well do it right. Springs and retainers are needed as well.

EDIT: i would recommend the Neptune RTP tuning software. you can read ab this in the ECU area.

Hahaha I guess I did ask to be spoon fed. I did my fair share of brake help on here after I did my conversion. I tried to take care of all te super noobs. But I really appreciate the help and I didn't mean to get kindergarden civic on ya. Plus there is only a handful of philadelphia help.
