Is it really worth getting a turbo header vs keeping my manifold, would it get loud as hell again? I'm thinking of getting one but I jus don't want to be getting pulled over again for loud exaust. It has a nice deep tone right now, not loud at all. I have a 2- 1/2 pipe from the down pipe back and a straight through muffler. Just let me know what you all think.

OMG..What will you bolt the turbo to? you have to have a EXHAUST MANIFOLD noe header to put the turbo on. Oh yea How is the greddy turbo "custom built" do you mean rebuilt?

Damn dawg I thought this was club civic not club hater. My set up is already on and I'm getting it dyno tuned next weekend, and yes I am a noob that's the reason I'm asking about the turbo header. I don't really know much about turbo's. I will try to post my engine pics tomorrow.

as far as i know there are two types of turbo manifolds the "log type" which is usually cast iron, and "tubular" which is of course mandrel bent tubes that go to a colector then to the turbo i would get a tubular style manifold noise wont be a factor turbos have there own back pressure which muffles the sound so if you have a muffler it will be quieter than if you had no turbo at all. plus if you have the tubular style turbo lag and back pressure goes way down which is always good IMO...

Thank you stolle, I really appreciate that. So when I say header I just mean the tubular one, thanks.

turbo header i seem to find is made of stainless tubing that is equal length to the turbo. a turbo manifold is simply as hacked cast iron manifold with unequal length piping. spot your differences? the turbo header basically evens out exhaust flow at the turbo instead of having #1 firing, then #3 firing and #3's gas actually gets there first, if u know what i mean. granted the time frame is so small that ur probably better off not worrying about it, but hey, who is to say it wont do a little good (ie quicker spooling possibly????)

they are all called turbo manifolds....u can get cast iron and tubular manifolds.....header(s) are tubes that come from the exhaust ports and run down and merge together then connecting to the exhaust....turbo manifolds have the manifold and a down pipe...same concept though.....tubular is better....cast iron is cheaper

I just tried posting the pic and I failed. I read the noob thread on how to post pics but I'm a noob to my computer. If somebody can help I can email them the pics. Or I could just figure it out either way they'll get posted.

if u were to upgrade to an equal length manifold keep in mind that the i/c piping will more than likely have to be modified, and possibly your oil return line too. unless u plan on going w/ a bigger turbo and beefing up that setup, i dont think u need to upgrade the mani just yet
