turbo help

I have a ls bottom end that has shotpeend rods and stock pistons i want to vtec and boost it i have both gsr and b16a head what would be better for boost? this car will be my dd so i only wanna push 8psi what size turbo is recommended?

psi doesnt matter. how much hp are you lookin for?

ON the heads...pick one, from what it sounds like on your build, it wouldn't make a difference.

2fast. is correct, PSI alone means nothing. Get a power goal in mind.

i think i would go with gsr head. but its very true about hp goal first. (thats where ive want wrong a few times)

b16 head has lower compression, but the gsr has quench pads that reduce risk of detonation

if your going to be getting a good tune, which you should be anyways, i would go with the b16 head

B16 for lower compression.. then just get an excellent tune and your good to go.

Who said psi doesn't matter? Psi does matter, you can't be like I want 300 hp but i want to run 5 psi.
Next time own or build a turbo car before you put ur 2 cents in. In my opinion, either head will be fine, if is your dd car and you are not going to upgrade ur internals I would suggest don't push no more then 10 psi and with a good tune you can be running 220hp+
