turbo HX??

Has anyone on here turboed their HX. How did you do it? Im basically just wondering what you did with the ignition and the whole "VTEC-E" thing. thanks

interesting topic. I honestly see it being pointless, but I'm curious as to who has done this? and what are your numbers

people have. check out homemadeturbo.com i wouldnt say anything impressive as for numbers, but its more than stock of course......

not worth it. period. get a d16 swap first, will probably get you ~ 30 whp more, for about $300 more, which is a really really good power: money ratio.

i agree. but it CAN be done, and has. get a y8 or z6 and have a much better starting point

i've read around where they've hit mid 14s....which isn't the best but it's enough.

has anyone figured out how to make VTEC-E be always on and then just turbo it an not have to worry about the whole VTEC thing and having 2 maps. Obviously you would have to get a map program like chrome, but wouldnt this work

you cant have VTEC on the whole time, programming "two" maps isnt hard, one section is vtec and one section is non-vtec.

i think that i could just swap head and ecu. but i thought it would be awesome to keep my "roller rockers" so that i could get a very aggressive cam for the turbo.

would the y8 be the best head to get? Is there any way i could find a jdm head with a little more power?

y8 = known to be the "type-r" of d-series.

well my buddy put an hx d16y5 engine in his 90 hatch not knowing how different the head was, now its turboed and nowhere near runs like my y8 crx turbo so i told him to switch the head to y8. but now i remember a couple years back i had a vx head i switched valvetrain with normal vtech i think 96 up valvetrain, put it on a d15b7 bottom end and it maxed out the compression gauge 300+ psi threw in some hardware store octane boost and it ran . sounded like a diesel because we forgot to change valve springs the vx where to weak. so im going to see if i can do the same to my buddies 90 hatch. still have vx head switched the springs but never put back on engine must try again with boost too this time.

or list all of your mods in your sig, which includes T3/T04 Turbo and AEM SRI bc that definatly works :roll: :roll:

try that i havent gotten the turbo on yet so thats y i have those in there...srry i dont have NOS on my car... :(

then its not a mod. i have a turbo in my garage too *shruggs*



btw i have nitrous, not nos......its a zex kit.
