Hi all,
I'm new to this turbo world and really want to do some internal up grades. I was wondering if you guy could help point me in the right direction as to which parts/ brands are the best to go for the following parts;
Forged Low compression piston kits
Con rods (titanium)
Low Compression head gasket kit
Camshafts
Valve springs (titanium)
Other bits you think is worth to consider

I will appreciate any help......

i wouldnt get a different head gasket, id keep your stock compression tho. its all in the fuel delivery.
pistons: je
rods: crower
cams: crower
valve springs and retainers: crower

id also port and polish your head while your at it.

that has got to be the stupidest parts list ever. if you are that clueless, dont post. theres enough misinformation floating around this site without you contributing to it.

ok I have a 1994 1.6 sohc vtec (D16 i think) totally standard engine apart from s/s exhaust with the cat removed. Turbo kit is the max rev kit with t03/04, intercooler.
Then I'll be doing the same to my 1994 b16a2 also with the same turbo kit. Only difference for mod's on this engine is the toda timing belt.
so think away for both engines!

Stick with forged steel connecting rods. You'll save a bunch over the Ti rods and they're usually stronger. Ti likes to "grab" on to other metals, so something will have to be done on that part as well. Through all the trouble of treating the surfaces, just to save a few onces, you should have started with a better engine.

Don't recommend using a thicker head gasket to lower the compression. Those effectively remove your in-cylinder quench areas-not good. Lower the compression with the piston and correct for it with the combustion chamber, i.e. milling the head. Choose a good head gasket independent of changing c/r if you can.

Also, for an insane street car or road racer, use 4032 alloy pistons. You're engine will love you for it. For an all-out maximum boost drag car, you can use 2618 pistons--looser clearances=more banging around=more wear. JE's are 2618, SRP pistons are 4032.
