if the piping is 3" from the header then you dont have to do s**t to your exhaust when you go turbo

^ yea... My turbo exhaust is only 2.5" (no cat/no resonator) but still if you have 3" on an N/A non built motor... thats just such a waste of pipe.

no, you do not have to change your exhaust when you go turbo. the only part of the exhaust that you will have to worry about is the downpipe.

:what: Well thats what was on there when I bought it :what:

So I guess I'll just leave it be.... I don;t need the cat or a "cat back" system or anything like that then....what I got well work?

you need a catback exhaust. you dont need the cat as in cat. converter. with a turbo i would have a full exhaust system.

isnt lack of back-pressure ONLY good running some sorta forced injection? scavenging and whatnot?

Heh,

First of all are you asking if you HAVE to or if you SHOULD for performance? No, you do not have to. Should you? Most definetly unless you laready have large diameter piping. Exhaust is a very serious upgrade for a turbo car and can give large bonus HP.

Next, it's up to you if you'd like a silencer, turbo cars usually are louder based on the extra pressure pushing through the motor and out the back, might want to go for it though.

Hope that helps.
