turbo question

i own a 1999 civic si, my question is.... can i install performance cam gears and pulleys and still turbo charge my car? Someone told me that if i plan on turbo charging is not recommended to replace my stock cam gears and pulleys, is that true, if so why? thanks

adjustable cam gears can get u even more power from turbo if u take the time to tune them
