there shouldn't be issues putting a turbo on an automatic.
also, from what i've heard, the b16 head is better suited for your crvtec plans.

turbo on an auto will work just as good as a stick. get a tranny cooler tho. boostedciviczex is an auto and he is boosted and juiced. my dad has a turbo diesel with an auto, kinda a big difference there, but just make sure your tranny can handle the HP.

Go for the turbo....there shouldn't be any issues with the tranny...

im a member of www.hondasuv.com and i ask questions there.. but when i do change the head of my engine.. i'll porbbaly be here asking questions too.. because i wasnt too sure about the head.. because in one article it said the rods line up in the b18 and the b20.. but peoepl said put a b16 head on the b20... i guess im just confused... either way it will have to be put on and fabricated to fit... i dont really plan on racing but i do need more hp and torque... i want it for show.. reason being is because i always have a huge ass box for subs int he back .. but it would be nice to have a turbo on it and go to the local track and bust out some nice times..
thanx though ...

well, please tell us your reasons for going b20vtec... it is not an altogether easy minime to do, so be sure it's worth your time, effort, and $$$.... my friend steve in colorado has a turbo b20vtec in his 94 sedan... yeah, it's pretty quick but doesn't meet emissions. he also said that for all the work put into it, he didn't get as much as he expected out of it.

either way, know what your plans and goals are. how are you liking your comfortable runabout vehicle?

i wouldnt do a crvtec. the cost, labor, waiting, tuning and all that s**t isnt at all from what you really get. this project will cost you upwards of like...6 grand. And since you are doing this to an auto, youll be REALLY dissapointed.

i guess today when i was really thinking about it.. it would be lots of money.. andmaybe just a vtec head would be fine for me... i just want a little more power then i do now and i know with the b20 its hard to anything to it without losing low end torque... maybe i'll just vtec my engine and buy a vw gti r32... but i will still own my V ... and possiblly fix up my mom's 97 civic

the auto tranny should help out with losing boost between gears (like a bov does) and i believe should cut down some on turbo lag

but putting on the vtec head is exactly what we've been discussing just now

well i thought we were talking about a turbo CRVtec engine.. sorry.. well i mean maybe just doing a CRVtec would be better off then a turbo.. i mean i will be spending around 3-5 grand on just my system alone.. and a turbo would be nice.. but i was really thinkign about a super charger... because i would have that off the line pull and since having an auto....wouldn't that be cheaper???

ummm get the idea of turbo out of your head. good. now the motor is more important than the system anyhow....so forget that for a sec. now that your mind is on the motor, think of it this way...its a crv....its an auto....just cuz its a "decent" motor doesnt mean you should do anything with it. its different when talking about crvtec in a civic...cuz its smaller/lighter. i remember way back when, there was a crv with a turbo gsr motor....
