Alright guys need a little help here. I am looking at doing 250-300whp on d16y8. I already have Vitara 75mm Pistons. I am looking at rods and wanting to know if i should go with FJT Custom Rods or should i go with Eagle Standard length rods. I don't know which ones would put me where i want to go power wise. Also what size turbo for this application? Also head gasket? And couple of other things. What brand CAM, CAM Gear, Valves, Retainers, Springs. Last thing is what size injectors to use? I am building the entire motor i am building the motor then adding the turbo kit. Please let me know as far as turbo i will need to make these numbers. Please don't send link to the guide i have read a couple of times wanting some people's advice as far as what they have ran setup wise for this.

Thanks in Advance.

Also let me know if there is anything i should consider when doing this as well.. Parts already have are listed below

75MM Vitara's
ARP Head Studs
Walboro 255LPH
2.5 Exhaust Not wanting to go 3" for reason of A/C and PS
Chipped P28 Chrome Pro

well, i dont how much your budget is, id go with crower cams, springs and retainers..
Cometic HG .030
Rods - eagle, scat, etc.. i would keep the OE stroke IMO
As for the piping.. you can start off the turbo at 2.5" and have it open into a 3" when it gets to the pan then all the way back.. Greg at Go-Autoworks can fab this. Also can fab your manifold and dump w/o any fitment issues and great flow! they are also skilled in the mighty D.

Cam gears are matter of preference - AEM, Blox, Skunk, ect.. they all do the same thing. just dont buy ebay knock offs

You might as well get the whole autoworks kit for your build, comes with great WG,BOV, piping etccc.... that will fit the 1st time!

Just need injectors 440 or 550 and ECU and a upgraded clutch and mounts

Thanks guys for helping me what all is involved in sleeves?

My budget right now is about 1500 right now and adding another 2k for the turbo kit from go-autoworks that is one i want to run but getting there is hard lol.

Forgot to mention.... Also running 50-75 shot of nitrous... Wet

Comp cam's 260 or 256? About 700$ not to bad.

Another thing Eagle H beams is what you guys would suggest but would i have problems with compression being 8.5:1

that compression isnt too bad, it does kinda suck when your not in boost though

Don't worry about sleeving the motor either. Stock sleeves at that power will be fine. (I wouldn't sleeve a motor w/ a vitara setup anyway)

I'd also just go w/ the standard H beams.

For the cam, the Comp 105300 cam will be a good fit for you.

You have a decent start. Your best bet is to read through our turbo setup threads and research what everyone else has and ask them how they like it and how it's held up. Hondatech has a TON of info on forced induction, including nitrous. Sleeving would be a good idea but if you're on a budget it's not a must.

Ok guys I have ordered the following
260 VTEC D16Y8 SOHC HONDA KIT CompCams complete head kit. Will stock valves be fine? Also looking at Port and Polish
AEM Cam Gear
Eagle H Beam rods STD Stroke
ACL Race Bearings
Cometic Head Gasker

Best injectors to get for money with clips where to find?
I also have a P28 chipped crome pro with cable for live view or w/e or datalogging.
What clutch is my next question so i can go ahead and order it? Then all i will need to do is order the turbo kit. Hey greg What turbo kit of your guys would you suggest for this power wise? I was thinking the GO-AUTOWORKS Tuner Kit. Any deals on these?

LOLZ @ deals.. the deals are on the site...

Xenocron.com has injectors at a good price, but if you buy the combo, make sure u upgrade to the walbro 255lh pump, the xeno knock off has given me problems since day 1

Stock valves will work fine provided they are in good shape.

I'd also go with standard acl bearings.

I'd go with a set of Precision 650s. They are available saturated with no resistor box needed. I personally would prefer the low imp/peak and hold but most people like the ease of the direct install. Precision offers clips, stock obd1 clips work as well.

I'd go with the stage 4 sprung Competition clutch.

We always offer deals on complete kits, just contact us.

Brand new valves head was torn down and rebuilt by shop about 2k ago. Cause i had stuck valve cause guide was f**ked. So they did new guides seals and everything about 600$:( Wish could to complete kit gotta do it.

What is difference between low imp/peak hold and saturated?

ACL TRI-Layer i picked up for 65$
Eagle H Beams for like 289$

What is best brand clutch to look for? Don't want no knock off.

Have ordered all the parts can think of for bottom end wanting to pull it and do bottom end in next couple weeks. And put all back in and when i get money to buy head stuff do the head.

Quick questions i have only dealt with internal wastegates. On external wastgates the spring controls the boost level correct? Not really needing boost controller correct?

Peak and hold will require a resistor box, saturated will not. P&H will be available for the larger injector sizes and tend to have a better spray pattern. With your car being a 97' you'll need a set of injector clips regardless.

Competition Clutches are great.

Set Spring controls the boost. If you want to raise the boost you can either get a boost controller or swap springs.

No, a boost controller isnt needed.. My boost controller is a tee in the line... totally reliable an no adjusting.
Im using a 7lb spring but boosting 12lbs cuz of the tee..I have a new 11.5 lb spring for Tial 38mm if needed.

Clutch- exedy, act, comp, they all will work just fine.
