Turbo Setup Question

A friend has a turbo he said he would sell me for cheap but it's just the turbo. I didn't tell him i would buy it or anything but he said he was gonna bring it to school so i could see it. I assume it's something small, nothing too big. But my question was, what would i need to buy to run a small turbo on the Si? And how much would it cost me?!

I'm watching this 99/00 ex by me, and he has a t3/t4, some wastegate, something else i think, and just got an intercooler.

i dunno how much it cost him, i could ask about whatever tomorrow night, but i think it was pretty cheap, just needs piping

well if u havent i would get search for it on here b/c and read and re-read it cuz its not eazy the first time.....i do it almost everyday

nah i havn't....which is why im gonna do alot of reading if i decide to buy the stuff. but first off i wanted to get an idea of how cheap it would be to do the whole custom job. i'd have my mechanic do it of course, but i just wanted a rough estimate on pricing and what i would need for an idea before i even decided.

dam thats a lot of stuff to buy

just buy a pre-fab turbo kit, or since u also live in fl, s/c so theres less heat in under your hood

Coolant Lines (you arent going to need these, its not water cooled) just get a bigger then stock size turbo and you wont have to worry about stupid s**t like this

Boost Gauge
Injectors (what size 450cc?)

ok i wouldnt mess with his dinky turbo, just get one that will work with other parts you have to get
the main 3 important pieces are
manifold turbo and downpipe all 3 need to work together
the mani needs the right flange to fit the turbo
and the dp has to A..fit the car and b. fit the turbo

then you dont ened stupid plates to help make it fit

you dont need a fmic persay, but its a good thing to have
you will need a WG, tial or turbo smart

intercooler piping or a charge pipe from comp to tb if you run no ic
oil lines return and feed, misc fittings, a npt adapter to get oil from the stock oil pressure sender location

after that everything else is just extras and nice to haves
you will eventually need a new clutch
if you want to run a good amount of boost you will need fuel and tunning
a boost guage is something good to have, i wouldnt boost without one, id also throw a EGT in there and if you have cash oil pressure

always have extra cash when going boost, things come up you will need misc piece here and there

you could piece a good turbo kit together for 2k... anyless your going to get shitty parts
dont just go cheap because you want boost, it will cost more in the end

learn
then understand what you want out of the car

and ask someone that knows boost, hit me up if you want

in florida, if your running higher than 6psi, get a fmic.....dont use a FMS, get a EMS, like hondata s200+b or uberdata(search google) if uberdata you wotn be boosting very quickly, you ogtta learn lots....id reccomend a wideband o2 sensor as well(for a/f guage) boost and a/f, specially a/f are need for boost....get a inlinepro mani, nothing else.....dont get rev hard or drag, they are inferior to inline pro...:D

and i have a carbon fiber dual gauge pod that will fit ur car..sick...

and in that ebay ad, that turbonetics wastegate is NOT 400 bucks like it said...its like 230 because i bought the same one but ended up selling it..

wideband isnt needed for what hes working with plus he doesnt tune whatsoever
AF guage,bleh waste of money if you had a real wideband thats all you would need
uberdata is ok but i like hondata much better
but ones free and one isnt
