what kinda whp would i get if iran a t3 on my stock block b16a2 civic around 6psi?
is that a suitable boost?
would a have to change my injectors and fuel pump or headgasket?
i plan to send another b16a2 block that i have away to get sleeves, low comp pistons and rods then fit that but would like to run some boost just now on my other standard block#

also would 9.8:1 pistons be suitable to lower my compression or should i go lower?
its 10.2:1 that are standard i think

cheers guys

well first of all you might wanna post a little more info on the set up your using....more specs on turbo, manifold style, ect. from just the info your giving i would say youd put out around 200whp. and as far as your compretion question goes it all depends on how much boost you wanna run. remember...lower compression=ability to run higher boost safely

i will post the full setup that i wanna run

i just wanna know if you put the compression to low will it cause it to run rough or damage the engine?

now im not talking about running compression in the low 4's...i was running 9.6:1 compression and pulled off 400+ whp in a dd. im just saying that unless you have a jdm b16 then i do believe your compression is like 10.0:1 i believe and you wanna run 9.8:1 compression that wont be much of a difference your probablly better off running ls pistons in that case. a buddy of mine was running stock b16 with ls pistons and rods and he was running on 12 psi all day...if he didnt have his timing advanced so much then the motor would of lasted. the important thing is that you have to set a goal you wanna reach and go from there

my goal is to reach 300whp and be able to run a decent amount of boost 12psi or more without the risk of it blowing the engine

do you think 9.3:1 compression ratio or 9.0:1 would be o.k?

i would really like to be able to run about 18psi if that would be possible

to run 300whp on a b16 is not that hard...if i were you id get the block sleeved, get a set of strong rods, and whatever compression pistons you wanna run(not high) a good headgasket, and just beef up the head and some cams and cam gears and with a good tune you will be running 300whp with an almost bulletproof motor(as long as you drive ok). plus it leaves you room to run more boost if you want. post the set-up you were wanting to use

sounds like you mite be a bit new to boost....a good turbo to go with for your goals would be a garrett gt28r bb turbo and cams well there are alot out there i would probably go with some ctr cams in your situation...i ran them on an old set up and they were good. also look into getting some kind of engine managemenet...what kinda budget are you working with...in all honesty when i first started out i did alot of research on what other people were running and called alot of places to get more info...believe it or not most places like golden eagle and inlinefour.com when you contact them they can be very helpful

wow thats a bit overkill for your goals...i was running a turbo around that size and made around 500whp. you need to look into a gt28r or any t3 really. and as far as costs go with a built block and some headwork and a kit you piece together yourself your looking at around $7000. check out my post with my old set up and you will see what im talking about

you can make 300WHP on a stock b16 with all stock internals( depending on the condition of your motor). if you go to a good tuner you will get the power you want to make.
