I'm doing research into an engine swap, but that's on another thread, this one I'm looking for information on turbo/twin turbo kits for a J32A 3.2l DOHC. Any favorites? I'm looking to boost the stock 250hp J to a decent 400hp. I figure with good flowing exhaust(within legal limits of course ;) ), twin turbo and intercooler, 400 hp shouldn't be a problem. I have heard different opinions on twin turbo vs a larger single turbo...any opinions on this? and who makes the best turbo kits for the J? I'm looking for a QUALITY kit that won't burn out after a few runs on the track. I have a few months to plan for this, so I'm trying to find out what all I can during the next few months.

I hope youre planning on using the manual transmission on this setup, the automatic will not hold up. They are known for giving problems on fully stock cars at around 70-80k miles (ofcourse give or take, but most I've seen were around there).

Just keep that in mind when thinking about this project.

They really dont make a "BOLT ON" kit for that motor your going to probally fab and piece together parts.

garrett turbos FTW

typically the point behind a factory twin turbo setup is that one turbo is smaller and spools quicker but tops out sooner, while the other is larger and tops out later for better high end power

a single turbo setup uses a moderate size turbo to spool somewhat quick in lower rpms and creating full boost midway up the rpm band or so

thanks mugen, and whtcivic93, I plan for the 6spd. I don't like automatic for a fun car. automatic is for someone that just wants to cruise, not enjoy the ride. Thanks for the info though, I wouldn't have known that. Mugen, the twin turbo setup sounds like it would get a wider range of power. Are their any downfalls to using a twin turbo? and 95GSRHATCH, I know they don't really have a bolt on kit. It's gonna be a challenge, but if I can get it done, it'll be a sweet ride. And rare mod too, since most people don't want to go through the added trouble of putting one in.

Another route you can go is a rear mounted turbo... then run the cold side back to the intake.. would probably be cheaper to fab and you can run a larger single turbo. You can get a Backdoor Intercooler or stick with the FMIC and have piping routed around before the intake.

Also it would totally be stealth since you wont be able to see it and it will keep your under hood temps lower as well.. TAKE PICS whatever you decide to do. Id like to see this!
