Ok, I have a 97 jdm integra type R motor in my ek civic and It has stage 3 cams, I plan on putting in turbo cams and pistons that drop the compression to 9:1 does anyone know how well the rods in this motor will handle 8-10 psi of boost???

Ya I know but 11:1 compression and a turbo prob wouldnt mix that well I mean im sure it could handle 5 psi fine but thats the max what ive been told to run on that motor...A local shop around here has done plenty of turbo's on my motor and they just recommend dropping the compression...And I might be interested in those rods...

you should just go for a all motor car since you already have the type r to start with

psi is irrelavant bc of the varying sizes of turbos, turboing a type r is not that dangerous as most think, its do-able. just have it TUNED by a good tuner and if u are gonna do pistons u might as well do rods while ur at it. my boys turbo type r still runs strong on the same set up for like 3 years stiraght beating . my.02

theres nothing wrong with downgrading the comp of a itr motor, just not often you see it happen, since most people with those motors are N/A.

i have a friend as well with a usdm itr, hes running boost with a higher comp. 12 psi = 500ish whp. you just need a REALLY REALLY REALLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY good tuner, otherwise, youll be driving a ticking time bomb

if he plans on turboing it ofcourse he should drop the compression.....it makes it a lot more reliable......

just get some eagle h beam rods to go with those low compression pistons.....then run more boost
