My buddy wants to turbocharge his s2000 and wants to know what psi you can run on stock internals and how much hp will be expected from a t3/t4 turbo? any other comments welcome.

in regards to the question. I just asked about the same question to my mechanic, but I asked him on a supercharger. He said safely you could run on 7psi. I think that would aply for a turbo aswell. Anything after that an upgrade in ternall would be necessary or blowing up the engine.

:werd: i say under 10psi you would be fine. i would still strongly recommend a tune!

6 and 7 psi is the norm for S2K turbod on stock internals. i like the rev-hard kit myself :D

the s2000 i built ran a comptech kit and he was running 9 lbs on stock internals. It blew the rings out of it bc it had AEM with a horrible tune. I would say around 10lbs with a GOOD tune bc of the compression. The top of the pistons were still perfect. I think the real reason it blew the rings out are the same as for like a b16, ring gap too tight for boost.

Comptech doesn't make a turbo kit for the S2000 does it? I always thought it was supercharger :???:

Yeah comptech makes superchargers only but i was assuming everybody knew that, my mistake. I just mentioned the supercharger kti bc it was a type of boost thats all.

well running High boost isnt the problem, its the EMU and the tune, i kno a guy who ran 18psi on stock internals. everything was fine, hit some good numbers, it was a RSX Type S. he did it cuz he had a good EMU, (KPRO) and a good tuner.

thats wat ur friend needs, instead of asking ppl...cuz we dont kno how much he can run or wat numbers he will get. get a good emu, and a good tune and your good to go

nice info... wrong car! lol. the s2000 revs much igher than an rsx and has a much different compression ratio i believe.

i think you read my post wrong, i didnt even get into comparing the RSX w/ the S2000, i just used it as an example of Good EMU & Good Tune. read a lil clearer next time

it all in the tune ;) well not entirely becuase there are other factors but mostly.. LOL Yyou could have a S2k pushin 10psi and be more reliable then one pushin 7psi all becuase of the tune. I think 10psi is the limit on a bone stock motor. there are always excpetions though!

Your friend should ask this question on an S2k site since basically nobody here is very familiar with the F20C or F22C turbo options or capabilities. He should also be thinking about how much power he would like to produce since that will help determine what turbo he should use. The are T3/T4 options that can produce anywhere from 250-500hp so just saying "T3/T4" isn't exactly the most fullfilling piece of information.
