would it be too risky, or dumb even, to turbo a h23 with some minor internals, like low compression pistons mabey.
only running 5-6 boost??
also has 145,000 miles on it.

also if its worth it what should i get to make it safe?

not at all! Infact, throw a h22 head on there... The h23 has the strongest block out of the H series.

If you only want 300whp you are wasting you money with the H22 head. Your engine can't handle the 7,800rpm - 8,200rpm that the vtec head needs. No matter if you have a built h23 you will spin your rod bearings past 7,500rpm. What good is vtec for 1,500rpm? Port the h23 head and off you are. You will make tons of torque. I know, from experience. Another thing is... you don't have oil squirters (sp?) and you need them badly. You can put them in but then you have to bend and machine the block. Personally, I'd stick true to the h23 non vtec and turbo.
