Can anyone tell me which kit would be the best for my daily driven 2000 SI. Im looking for reliability and the most gain in power. Also some websites for advice would be helpful. Thanks

a drag generation 3 turbo kit uses a turbonetics turbine along with some other reputable F/I peices. i would reccomend the drag gen 3 kit or F-MAX. GReddy bolt on kits are very reliable and upgradable, they are my personal fav. check out www.turbo-kits.com , www.greddy.com , www.xs-engineering.com for a few kits

drag and f max suck. they have poorly designed manifolds, too large turbos, and rarely live up to their claimed hp. a good starter kit is a greddy, it has a smaller turbo that will give more power under the curve. otherwise, making your own kit is best. if you want big power, check out spark racings turbo kit, www.sparkracing.com

if you are getting a kit, id say get a greddy or perhaps an hks. my beef with them is that if you want to upgrade to a larger turbo, you cant simply bolt on a t3 flanged turbo, cuz then youll need a new manifold and new downpipe. but if you just want some boost around town power and thats it, no upgrading later, then get the greddy, but please, dont use the blue box.

you can get a larger t urbo, the 18g and 20g mitsubishi turbos share the same flange. although a 20g isnt a huge turbo, its more than enough for the 95% of people who dont build their motors for huge boost.

If you click on the link I provided it will tell you what you need to upgrade!

I wouldn't suggest getting this kit if your just starting out. :P I was just playing around.

I would go with the Rev Hard Stage 2 kit. It's just not as flashy as the Greddy and not that many people have it or know about it. If you click on the link you would see all the kits Rev hard puts together.

dont blindly jock one company. a t3/4 isnt a great street turbo on a stock motor, especially a d series. they are slow spooling, peaky turbos. they make great peak numbers on the dyno, but arent so great around town. a smaller turbo, like a greddy, makes for a much better all around power curve, not just in the last 2000 rpm or so.

go GReddy and upgrade to the TD05-H......thats what my friend has on his D-series with the type 24 intercooler and at 10 psi he's ungodly around here. from what i'm told its all stock inside (but he's kinda sneaky so im sure he's protecting the life of the D on 10lbs somehow. he's been boostin' for a year now and hasn't been down for maintenance once

Im looking into the Drag Gen III Kit (Turbonetics T3/T4) or the Rev Hard Stage 2 (Rev Hard T3/T4) for my 99 Si. One reason why I'm considering the Drag kit is because I know someone who has had the kit on his 00 Si, which is stock and daily driven. He has had it for a little over two years now and has proven to be very reliable. Here are a couple of sites that might help you out in your search.

drag is a poorly designed kit, it has a shitty manifold, a too large turbo, and and is overpriced. if you want a kit, get a greddy, or make you own. a t3/4 is just too stupid big to run on a stock b16.
