Turbonetics T3/T4 and maintaining my A/C

I am having a Turbonetics Turbo installed with my turbo kit. The tech called to say that it looks like I will have to lose my A/C compressor in order to fit the turbo on my D16Y8 (98 Civic EX). I have two other techs at the kit manufacturer arguing between one another on the same issue. Does anybody have an answer? I really want to keep my air conditioning. Arizona is a hot! :(

Usually its the manifold that determines if you can keep ur ac or not. Depends where it places the turbo also the downpipe could be an issue need more info for a better response though

Yep, what size downpipe? For the setup I have, 2.5" downpipe would be AC compatible, but 3" would not be.

+1 It's mostly on the manifold. It's easier to modify the downpipe then the manifold so you can keep your ac.
Make sure that the manifold you have it faces the turbo with the intake running on the passenger side and the downpipe on the drivers side so you can still keep your ac. Check out turbod16.com and they have more info then you can imagine.
