Turn off A/C with front window defogger?

Hi,

Just picked up a 2001 Acura EL (Civic sedan), 5spd.

Wondering if there's a way to turn off the A/C when vents are set to front window defogger? It doesn't turn off by pressing the button when vent position to set to defogger.

it just automatically does that idk if you can turn it off....

Isnt there a way to close the vents? If theres some on the civic there must be some on an acura.

turn the car off, turn the AC knob left counter clockwise to off position,hold the AC button and air recirculation button down at the same time.start the car with the buttons held down for 7-8 seconds the recirculation button should flash keep the buttons down till the AC button light comes on turn off the car and your done. the AC will still come on when you select defrost but you can turn it of by pressing the AC button.
