Type R Style Seats... Almost

So awhile ago i posted a thread to see if there was a black seat setup i could throw in my coupe that would bolt up perfect, both front and rear. I also found a lot of people painting their seats with black dye just to have their rear seats black. i thought that was lame and the cheap way to go and make your car look like s**t. i decided to spend about $70 bucks or so and do it the right way. i did a touch to resemble the type r style with the red stiching.

i spent about a week reupholstering my seats to a new black cloth and new foam. this is definately worth the money and time i put into it to get rid of that nasty stock grey look as well as making my seat value go up.
plus not to mention, all my seats fit perfect into their stock positions. unlike some other seats that bolt of crappy and not correctly.

this was my first time doing this so let me know what you guys think.
i am going to install them tomorrow so install pics will be up later.

ok guys here they are in my car. i havent really bolted them up, i just placed them in there for now.

also here is my new project. just traded some unwanted parts for this.

Get some practice and start selling that stuff, you could make some nice extra cash. After a while youll be able to pump em out real quick!!

I would love to re do the fabric on all my seats. Black fabric with red stitching all around would be so nice.

thats what i went for with this. i actually practiced a bit before i started to be safe. i thought about doing this for 6 bills for both the front and rears for people. still not sure yet. it takes a long time to do it because of variables. the hard part is the red stiching cause its a french seam. everything else is cake really. just takes time.

you can use really any kind of fabric but cant be to thin. it a process to get it to stay though. you need foam, glue, the correct thread, the correct machine and needles, a steamer but optional, the correct tools to do it. you need a lot. i had a lot of this already but if i didnt, it would be expensive. the machine runs a good $600 used....

thanks guys, if you want a special upholster done, like the bride seats, i can do it. just get the fabric, about4.5 yards worth and send me your seats. i will send you an invoice, and written notice that i have the seats and will be upholstering them. it will take some time but id rather do it right an have it look spot on.

Props to you for doing it yourself. They look great. But it's still a 6th gen seat and bolsters on them suck beyond suck .
