Doesn't look like anything great. Plus its a hx... greaaaat. What did you expect from this topic? Also, why paint your hood and trunk black? Get carbon fiber, and paint the roof black.

exactly what i got sir. just some feedback. yes the pics suck, its the best i can do for now, though if you have any recommendations on cameras i would appreciate it. it is an hx....... whats your point? i know its not gonna be a too fast too furious ride or anything, in the beginning i said all i was out to do was make the ride a little more enjoyable. nothing big. i realize that the car is in terrible shape, again not my fault. my dad gave me the car and at the moment its better then nothing. so i am proud of my hx. its about to hit 192k and still runnin good for the most part. its just little things that need to get done and will be as soon as the weather gets warm enough. as far as the paint goes, it may look "ricerrific", point is, my car not yours and i am not spending the money on a carbon fiber hood for what will be a beater for now. same thing for the trunk lid. i think the black will look nice anyway.

not to be a jerk.. its fine for a start and all.. btu the FIRST step in taking nice pics... CLEAN the car? and in regards to camera angles.. try to NOT shoot pictures that make it look like a lifted truck.. im NOT making fun of you im really being serious... but definately start with a REAL cleaning.. it SERIOUSLY looks like you dug it up out of the back yard.. SO dirty man .. and the HX is a fine platform.. "brett" at HAN had a turbo hx going low 14's/13's nothing wrong with that..
see thank you oc. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. yes she is dirty as hell. its been freezing here hence no cleaning. but tell me about the angles more. give me an idea on what you mean. i appreciate the criticism oc.
to start.. when im going to waste the time to take pictures.. i want to make them the best i can.. im NOT saying my pictures are great.. but i think they are at least "good" so ill explain what i try to do and maybe it can help you..
1. CLEAN THE CAR LIKE IT JUST ROLLED OFF THE LOT (basically devote the time to cleaning it.. hoenstly.. no one wants to see yoru dirty car.. ) (do NOT go to tip 2 till tip 1 is complete.. lol)
2. shop for background.. the background can make or break a shot.. i like to have high contrasting background.. so the car is very clear..
3. dont try to shoot at night unless you have the lighting and camera to support it.. in other words.. decent camera with a tripod, and some indirect light can make for some impressive night shots.. but its best to shoot at dusk or dawn.. when the sun is out.. and its lit but NOT overly bright.. very bright sun will make hot spots on the car.. DONT use the flash.. its ugly
4. the actual shoot and angles.. its a honda not a monster truck.. the idea is to make it look like a sporty car not a rugged truck
examples of good things: shots that make the car look lower than it is, paved ground, industrial back grounds, angles that highlight the things you DO have going for you.. avoiding blemishes the car DOES have..
examples of bad things: (and there are always exceptions.) my single biggest DON'T i read this somewhere.. "you are shootign a car.. not a deer or a bear.. dont shoot the car in the grass".. basicly meaning the car is driven on paved surfaces.. so shoot it where it belongs.. dont shoot it in a way that it looks higher than it is. dont use the flash it has a habit of exagerating flaws and creating those same hot spots you are trying to avoid by NOT shooting mid day..
5. photo editing software.. free/purchased.. whatever.. get something.. and edit the pictures to accent the car bring out its color.. clean the photo just in general..
6. shoot till there is no memory left on the camera.. the more pics to pick from in editing the better
now lets look at one of your pics to see what was done well and what was not..
-by having the car elevated and having the wheel turned.. the car actually looks higher than it should.. i prefer higher shootign down.. or same level shooting straight..
-there is a product called "back to black" its cheap.. buy it and clean all the black plastic with it.. it will look one billion times better..
-we already talked about cleaning so you know that
-the light hitting the car is really bringing out the dent right behind the door.. shoot the car in sections.. to show off its best parts..
-i actually like the dark trees as a back ground.. but i DONT like the forrest floor and a surface.. side of the road with the car on the road at dusk with the trees behind would work better..
glad i could help.. if you get bored.. you can click the link in my signature to see how i shoot my car and maybe get some ideas.. good luck.. look foward to seeing your shots improve
just because his comment was uncalled for... doesnt mean that you should be obnoxious back.. all that does is start s**t and cause threads to become drama filled pissing matches.. so please try to avoid that kind of thing in the future..
new plan. i currently owe 1460 on the civic, it will take me 8 months to pay it off at 200 a month. so what i will do is buy the strut bars (rear and front) and thats it. that will be all, then when the car is paid off i will sell it or trade it, keep the strut bars and find me an ex. something that i want. i have always loved civics so i want to stick with them.
