Installed my new brake goodies this weekend (Brembo blank rotors, Hawk HPS, and Goodridge steel braided brake lines) along with my freshly painted Rota Subzeros. I've had the wheels for three years now, it was time for a bit of a change. Also added some Muteki Open-end lugnuts I got from www.evasivemotorsports.com for $32.00 shipped. Here are some before/after pics...enjoy.

Not hard, went pretty smoothly...I did, however, have to run to Sears Saturday morning to buy an Impact Driver to get "ONE"...yes...one of the rotor screws was too stubborn to come out...but the ID took care of it in seconds. The brake lines were actually eiser than I expected, to install. The rotors and brake pads are elementry installs. As for the rear shoes...after taking the rear drums off I came to notice that (even after 115,000 miles) the I still had 3/4 of pad left on them...so I didn't even bother replacing them...I just made sure everything was in working order and cleaned-up a bit. The stopping power is great now. I Highly recomend upgrading your stock rubber brake lines to some Steel Braided Lines.

Oh yeah, that's my winter bumper...and if you didn't notice, I have my stock rear bumper on right now too. I'm redoing the grill mesh for the bumper openings. I'm repainting the grill mesh to match the wheel color...it's white right now. I'll get on that in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the comments.

Much better...I love the white wheels on the red civics...I think that's the only car that white wheels look good on!

Good job!

It looks alot better with the new color on there. I hate white on red. Good stuff on the brakes, I want to upgrade mine after my turbo install. Your car is real clean man, keep up the good work.

Wait so you're putting the first ugly bumper back on that you had with the white rims? :scurred:

Hawk HPS pads and Goodridge steel braided brake lines - http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/results.jsp?category=Pads&scat=Pads&category=Rotors&scat=Rotors&category=Lines&scat=Lines&scat=BigBrakeKits&autoMake=Honda&autoModel=Civic+EX+Coupe&autoModClar=&autoYear=1998&brand=all&perfcat=perf&x=83&y=13 - pads were $52.00 & brake lines were $123.00
Brembo Blank Rotors - Import Replacement Parts is cheapest I found "Genuine" Brembos, $30.00 per rotor. Go to http://www.groupbuycenter.com/buy.aspx?id=14854

So a rough total including shipping was about $270.00

How I painted my rims

I simply cleaned them up with some simple green.

Sanded the original clear coat of with some 400 grit.

Sprayed them with Dupli-Color Engine Enamel (Cast Coat Iron DE1651).

Couple coats of Dupli-Color clear coat.

Finished Product.

Thanks for the feedback...The new look is really starting to grow on me...not sure about putting the BC bumpers back on...however, I am leaving the side skirts on. I might even try my cards with a VIS CF hood and front lip.
