I'm gonna be running around 1400 watts of sound in my 4 dr civic soon. My system will consist of 1 kicker solobaric L5 10 in. (450 watts per voice coil) 900 watts total and 2 sets of Kenwood kfc-X1720P components 300 watts each. The amp I'm gonna be using to power the kicker solo baric is a 2 channel Rockford Fosgate 800 watt amp. The components will be powered by a 4 channel Rockford Fosgate 700 watt amp. Also I have a 3.0 farad cap for the system.
I was wondering if I would have to upgrade my alternator to a higher amp than the stock one is. I just don't want any problems some time down the road.

you only need a new alternator once you start gettin to 1600+ watts...do the big 3 since it's cheap..if that doesn't work..invest in a good battery like optima or kinetic

IDK what size alternator was on my 99/GSR swap but with an Optima red-top and 1500 watts, it did fine for three years until my ex-wife totaled it.
