Upgrading system advice

I want to upgrade the stock audio system in my '04 civic sedan. Basically what components should I buy that would offer the best bang for my buck? I'm trying to achieve crisp, clean sounds listening to mainly hip hop and r&b. Which brand should I go for with the head unit and what brand of speakers (do I have to replace all 4 or just the front 2 speakers?) Also any opinions on a great budget sub?

Bang for buck = CDT AUDIO. You should replace all 4, reason being that if you went with good speakers up front the crappy speakers in the rear would cancel them out by bleeding the sound over. You could also just go with the frontstage no rears. Great budget sub, elemental designs or CDT audio.

Thanks bro, I'll look into that brand. Any ideas for a good head unit?

clarion is the best bang for buck in my book.
The DRZ9255 is kickass, but everything else is ehh in my opinion. I've used the rockford HU's when they still made them, those were really well built and performed. My HU in my last car was a Panasonic, great display, tons of features but it had weird power levels. (Everything would be pretty quiet from volume 0 to 30 and the last 30 to 40 would jump up drasticly). I had a pioneer motorized dvd hu earlier this year that i sold because i wasn't too impressed with the SQ. I'm now using a cheapo pioneer HU to hold me over until i have the cash for the Premier P880prs and i'm pretty impressed with the features and sq of a low end unit. Don't go with sony, they usually end up with laser alignment issues fairly early on. The older eclipse units from 2-3 years back are great too.

Bang for buck = pioneer
2nd pick = alpine (Some people feel that the sound from the alpine's are too processed, and sound artificial)
