i currently have a boosted stock 00 si on 8lbs boost its really strong. im running a vafc hack for now and i need to know when i set my vafc controller on 6 in 6 out like the book says it doesnt want to run normally or idle at all. But when i set it on 3 in 8out its like oem excellnt idle and definately more power. but i dont get a cel while im in boost but whenever i decelerate with my car in gear and my foot off the pedal i get cels like crazy but whenever i get ready to decel and i engage the clutch i dont get a cel. im running on a stock mapo sensor. has anyone out there had this prob b4?? if so please help me

im thinking timing might be an issue i had a similar issue but in a diff car. I personally hate the AFC/VAFC(pretty much the same thing) i had it in my DSM and it was a pain.

I would suggest getting a piggy back or standalone asap and at least adjustable cam gears.

an afc is a piggy back.

if you havent even touched your mechanical timing, retard it around 10 degrees. you can use the afc for awhile if you put a wideband to it but realize that chipping your ecu and learning how or getting someone to tune your car using crome/turboedit/uberdate/etc will extend the life of your engine and wield more whp.

how much does it cost for an obd1 ecu chipped on crome with a basemap, and a harness? is it so expensive that its worth it to buy a vafc? it couldnt cost more than like 250 bucks to get all that.

its a piggy back fuel control unit, not a piggyback engine control unit.

if your running boost u have to add fuel AND retard timing based on boost. a vafc cannot do this. retarding your timing mechanically will be safer than where you're at right now but its not an answer. the car will run like crap out of boost.

sell your vafc and get a proper engine management system or you will have an expensive rebuild ahead of you.
