Hi All:

I'm want to know if someone can/knows how to do a valve adjsutment on my 2000 Honda Civic LX. I have a slight tick when the car is cold for about 3-4 minutes and then goes away.I read about it, but i am not confident enought to do it myself,
I am in Wheeling, IL 60090. Please let me know if someone can do it, recomend someone and of course the price.

What's your reservation about doing the work yourself?

Do you have feeler gauges and know how to use them?

Are you able to remove the valve cover and upper timing belt cover, to turn the crank pulley counterclockwise, and to recognize the cam and crank positions for TDC of each piston?

I'm more of an amateur.
I do have the gauges, however i have never done this before or attempted to.
I removed the cover before to replace the gasket before. So i know hot to get to the valves but not to adjust them. I'm more afraid that i will mess it up

You have to do what you are comfortable with. But all of us had to do the job once for the first time. It's a doable job for an amateur in a garage and will save you quite a bit of money. Read through the service manual instructions and post any specific questions as they come up.
