so i recently installed a gsr in my hatch. on start up and normal driving the car runs great. i took it to my tuner and got a baseline tune and it put out 153whp...not bad for a bolt on gsr right? the only thing is that in vtec it blows out a lot of blue smoke. i ran a compression test on a cold motor and it was 175 across the board and i did the test again but this time i added a cap of oil to each cylinder and the numbers didnt go up more than 5 psi in each cylinder. im pretty sure its the valve seals because the motor does make the power it should but i would like a 2nd opinion.
when i got home from getting my car tuned i checked my oil and it was a little over filled(half a quart), would this cause a lot of blue smoke by chance?
will lucas fix my issues at all?

thanks

Im not sure about the half quart too full whether or not that would make it burn oil, but i do know that most GSR (and type R) engines Will burn oil while in the upper RPM's.

Well, did u do an internal check on the car before you installed that motor on? and like lucas would work because its a sealant u put into ur motor but that wont last forever my friend. u would have to keep fixing a temporary problem forever. and uhh, its an issue, check ur air filter or intake and see if oil is in there, if you see oil in there one of your piston rings are done. i hope this helps...check or replace ur pcv valve if nothing works..

thanks!! i did check my intake and no oil. i forgot to tell you the guy i got it from said he redid the head...im guessing they might have done something wrong. i just need it to last this summer thats all.

i guess i made a mistake by not taking a closer look at the motor. i did just take a look at the head and everything was clean so it was rebuilt.

no problemo, just dont run the car hard, i kno its hard to resist because its a powerful motor lol, but just baby your car, the way u treat it is the way it treats u. dont take any chances either, just smooth shift on her around 2,500 RPM rev a low as possible to reduce engine stress.
