Viper 5000 remote start?

I was wondering if anyone new of a way to add remote start to my current alarm. I have a viper 5000, pager alarm that i know comes with remote start, but the shop i went to said they couldnt install the remote start on a 5 speed manual car. I know theres a way to install it, and im wondering how to do it and what it would take to install. Any help? anyone in a similar situation? Thanks

on five speeds you have to use a neutral safety switch. They run about $100-$140 installed depending on which shop that you go to. Remote starts are definately a project that you dont want to tackle by yourself. Not fun. And guarantee it worth paying a shop to do it rather that paying a shop to rip out the install and do it over

Are you speaking in general for 5 speed remote starts or specifically for the viper alarms? What does the neutral safety switch actually do? Prevent you from remote starting in gear, and does it allow you to start your car without engaging the clutch? my car needs the clutch engaged to start, so i was wondering if it would also allow remote start to work without the clutch being engaged.

there is no differencee than installin it on an auto car then 5 speed they dont do it cause its illegal u dont need the switch jus dis engage the clutch so that u dont have to press it in to start the car it be best if u didnt do it in rural areas u gota come to the city like in the bronx or somthing where they need money and tell to do it if not then dont do it and they will be like ok

^^WERD... i know over here anyone would do it.. BTW u dont need the saftey switch everyone is talking about.. my boy hooks up alarms and i asked him about it he said its just some wires.. to bad hes gunna charge me to do it

do you think you could find out which wires? I'd kinda wanna have the safety switch anyway, but yeah, thats what i really wanted to find out, how to hook it up.

When I got my alarm, they told me that it was illegal, but I heard that other shops will do it. I have a python tho, couldn't find Viper around here, except at Best Buy and it was ridiculously expensive

im almost 100% sure its the same thing as the viper 5000.. just some little things it might not have

The neutral safety switch allows you to autostart the car a guarantee its not in gear. It is 100% illegal to put one in without the neutral safety switch, but legal with. I would steer clear from a shop or a friend that would put in an autostart not using the nss

yea it isnt that safe without it.. the other day i had my boys car and tryed it out i forgot i left it in 2nd and the car took off on me.. it went about 10feet be4 i could open the door and hit the brakes.. theres a way to shut it off from the remote but i didnt know how..

i also broke his starter doing that

Since I didn't get the remote start, I got the window module. It's a lot of fun, the button that would start my car, rolls my windows down, and the lock button rolls them back up. It's sweet, people always look at it and go Oooooo and Aaaaaa hahaha

yeah its pritty sick. for the viper alarms you have multiple aux switches so you could have both. I think if you hit two buttons at the same time it can run another aux input, ie window modules, or even you can program it to open your garage door if you like. The window module is pritty cool, i'd install that too if i had power windows. My dads 03 accord comes factory with it, and its awesome.

did anyone figure out how to wire the remote start yet?

i am no longer doing remote start.. when i got the alarm done they said they took out my kill switch but they didnt. so i rather keep the kill then add remote start.. this kill pretty much kills everything, windows. locks. dizzy, starter, fuel etc..
