Viper 5002 alarm system

I'm going to place the alarm under the front drivers seat, and will run the powers wire(s) to a constant 12V in the under-dash fuse panel.

Question:
Do I run each individual power wires to the 12V source?
Do I turn all power wires into a single wire, close to the brain, and run that? If so, what gauge should that wire be?

Thanks again in advance!!

Well, if you are going to put it under the seat, why not tap into a power wire that runs along the door/floor rail? There is a whole loom of wires there that run from the front to the back that contain the wires for the tail lights, fuel pump, trunk light, etc.

Just make sure to hide everything very well and take away any sign that the brain is under the seat or where the wires go to. If they have any simple sign that it is there, it is one of the most worthless spots for an alarm brain. If it isn't going to be completely hidden, you might as well put it in the glove box.

The more you mold the wires into the stock set up the better the install and the harder for them to identify.

For instance, I put mine behind the gauges and it is all connected and loomed into the stock harness. There is no way to tell that it is there with the exception of following the l.e.d. or antenna wires to find out where the brain is.

Sure it was a pain in the @$$ to get it back there and wired in, but there is no way that any potential thief is going to be able to get in there quick enough to disable it. Even saying it over the net, if someone were to track down my car, they still would be able to get it out from there without taking out the front dash and gauges.

Then again, I also wired in a back up battery (this location I will not disclose) so even if the wires are somehow found and cut there is another source for power going to it.

Good advice, thank you>
