i attempted to put in a vtec light in my dash, unsuccessfully a few months back, trying to wire it from the ecu... so i gave up and saved it for winter time... I recently tried to run it on my friend's gsr straight from his solenoid, we wired the positive wire from his solenoid to the positive on the led and the negative to a CLEAR ground... and it lights up when he hits the gas, not really mattering if he is in vtec or not... and its extremely dim... so we tried wiring a 330 ohm resistor to the ground that we read on a how to... still the same effect... although the how to we read had no mention of the resistor, we thought maybe a simple step he forgot. anyway i'm stumped... we have clear conductivity in the positive wire to the solenoid and led... we checked multipule times...

anyone got any ideas, suggestions, a better how to?

Are you sure you have the Vtec wire and not the TPS wire?

http://home.earthlink.net/~civicex95/vteclight.html

i would buy a led for car alarms the flashing led i think those have a build in resistor. also have to be moving over 20mph and the engine has to be warm up first for vtec to work. you can sit in your car all day reving and the led won't light up remeber that aight =)
