walbro fuel pump question

ok so i just bought my 89 hatch si it had a walbro fp . my question is why does my car acts like it has ranned out of gas when its on a quarter tank. at first i thought it was the float giving me wrong signals but the float works good. What could it be?? btw Im new here so Wuts up people!

have you heard of anybody else's wallbro fp doing this?? because my fp just went out in my car and I was going to buy a wallbro. I have a 91 civic hatch dx

I don't think its the fp cuz those things are built rock solid. But I could be wrong. Do u have any leaks or have u checked ur fuel lines.

Check the fuel filter attached to the fuel pump.

my friends car did this. we found that the suction hose/filter attached to the new fuel pump was not reaching the bottom of the tank due to incorrect installation.

yeah i dont think it would be the fuel pump itself because when they go out, they pretty much drop dead instantly, not gradually so I 2nd checking the filter.

yup, mine did the same thing. I just wouldn't let it go under a 1/8th tank or else it would hesitate. More than likely your pump not sitting right and not reaching your gas at the bottom of the tank.

how about may be the fuel tank is tilted more towards the front ? . sat before i removed fp from the tank,I inspected the float .before i removed the fp the fuel gauge was reading 1/4 of a tank full but then after i installed the fp and straped the tank the gauge was reading half a tank. on my way to work the car kept turning off till i put gas then it ranned good. the fp only sits in one way right?

yes it was the filter ,it had a diffrent filter . bought one that was for an 89 honda civic wich was way diffrent from the one it had . now Problem Solve. Thanks To ALL!!
