I like the hatch man, but I'd def. suggest that you not use the public washes since generally they rarely clean the brushes and can have lots of dirt in them and end up scratching your paint. Its generally a cheap investment to buy some nice 100% cotton wash cloths to wash your car w/. I only use the best 100% cotton towels just to make sure that all the time I spend cleaning and waxing my car doesnt go to waste.
