k, i tried searching for this and didn't have much luck... here's my situation:

if i'm untuned, and my wastegate opens up.. is it normal for the car to fall flat out of power once the wastegate opens?

ALSO..

if i part-throttle it, it will hold boost all the way up to redline (although i havent taken it to redline though since i'm not tuned up yet)

its just when i full throttle it, i'll boost up, and my wastegate will open at my peak boost level of about 8psi, which happens around 4000rpm at full throttle, then the car just chuggs after that and doesn't really move any faster... anyone have any ideas or input on this? lemme know, thanx

I know you said that your untuned but what kind of management are you using?

i'm on a basemap made with uberdata to run my DSM 450 injectors, walbro 255lph fuel pump. and i'm pretty sure i'm running really rich...

Maybe so. That would explain it running ok at part throttle. But really I drove on my basemap for 600miles before I got tuned and it only hit 2psi twice. Be safe or you'll be sorry.

do you have a wideband?

if you are extremely rich, your car will run like s**t

no i dont have a wideband yet... well i guess i might not be running EXTREMELY rich.. because my car runs fine besides this boost problem thing im having.. it almost seems like the plugs are getting blown out once i reach peak boost.. i tightened up my plug gap quite a bit. i put them all at .025 and i still have the problem...

haha yeah i should prolly quit... :( i've just got a narrowband right now, and it reads optimal, then goes to full rich when i hit the gas.my fat tax return is comin soon, so i'll be finishing her off with that i think. wideband, adj. cam gears, clutch, and a tune.

if money is tight dont bother with the wideband your tuner should have his own. and cam gears are optional and might prove worth nothing. honestly pushing a basemap hard could wear your engine down very fast. its just meant to get you around and to your tuner.

its tough to have the power waiting and not get on it trust me i know, but show some discretion. no need to spend more money because you're greedy.
