Wastegate question???

This is my first time going turbo so i do have alot to learn....the wastegate...does theexhaust come out of the dump pipe even when i am sitting there? Cause i thought i would only open when i get boost.

no, exhaust only comes out of the dump tube when you are boosting

no you have it hooked up wrong. You obvious must have vaccum going to it.. & vacuum is bad.

there is like a gate that opens up that expels the exhaust, so maybe it's not closing all the way at idle?

Here's one for you guys. I'm ganna be pushing between 25 and 30 psi. I know which spring I need, but what size wastegate. From what I've seen, I don't need any bigger then a 40mm.
