i might get an external w/g off of someone on d-series, but he doesnt know the specs of it. now if the spring is at something like 15 psi and i get a mbc and turn it down to something like 7psi, will it surge? what if the spring is super soft like 4psi and i run it at 7psi, will it surge? i know it will surge a little because of the mbc, but i just dont want it to surge so much that it will hurt my engine.

i dont think u can use MBC's to lower boost.....only higher boost.....the only thing u can do is change the spring in the external wastegate

I believe you will be fine with the spring. The spring just allows you to run 15 psi and not higher.

Just get a boost controller and turn it down. This is what I did on all my dsm's

If you don't feel safe about it you can just buy a .5 bar spring and you will be fine.

Do you atleast know the brand?????

If its a Tail wastegate it will either be a 38mm or 35mm wastegate unless he is running a sick ass setup

you cant turn boost down on a wastegate lower than the BAR of the spring inside of it. if its a tial knockoff, they can use the same springs as a tial wastegate. im not sure if the springs are color coded though.

Wait a second. I just ordered a TiAL 38mm external wastegate for my setup and it comes with a spring for like 15psi. Can I turn the boost down with the Manual Boost Controller? Or Should I get a spring for like 5psi and turn the boost up from there?

The turbo setup will be on my H22 so I only plan on running 7psi.

I was always under the impression that whatever the spring is set for you could only turn it up from that psi point and not down.
