Water getting into tail light housing. Sealing solution?

Hey everybody, So I washed my car and after drying etc. I opened up my trunk door and water dripped all over my head. I looked at the tail light portion thats hooked onto the trunk door and their was water sloshing around in there. I look around the corners and noticed the red/clear plastic piece is slightly separated from the base portion (the back piece). Is there some sorta crazy glue or caulking I could use to seal it?

and how should I go about on drying out the tail light? let it sun bake for a while?

Thanks!

you basiclly just solved your own problem... take them off the car let em dry out, using one hand hold the 2 pieces together, then take either super glue or maybe some clear drying caulk and put it along the seam. it also wouldnt hurt to put some one the inside where the two pieces meet

clear silicon is your best bet it will seal and also acts as an adhesive plus its clear.

when/if u apply it use your finger or something similar to push it into the gap.

A blowdryer will dry up the remaining water trapped in the light, quick fix. You can even drill a small hole at the bottom of the lens to let the water escape. Clear silicone dried up and cracked very quickly in my case. What I did was took the taillights off, put them to bake in the oven for 10 mins at like 190 I think, pushed the two piece together as tight as I could, braced it with adjustable c-clamps while it cooled, then sealed it with black RTV silicone from autozone (like $5, but I would get at least 2 just incase) on the outer rim where the two light housings meet. The RTV doesn't look pretty and is messy but it was the best solution for me.
