water on windows...

so after a few months... i finally wired my ebay fogs to the point where it actually works...

on to the next problem...

the owner before me had aftermarket speakers and prolly a sub. he took them out of course and actually rewired one of the stock ones wrong.

anyways, both of my doors reek of mildew and mold when i roll it down/up after a car wash or rainy day. the windows are then wet... on the inside. i want to get some tint but want to fix this beforehand (tint was also removed horribly by previous owner) i was wondering if maybe the plastic guard is broken or fell off?

how hard / time consuming is it to take off door panels?

taking off door panels usually don't take that long. It probably only requires a phillips head screw driver and the removal of some clips.

i can take a door panle off in about 2 minutes. NO BULLSHIT. ALl u need is a philips head like my boy shinsen said. and a pick . Unscrew the door handle and the hand slot by the window control. Then pull on the door panel with a panel puller and disconnect all the plugs like the window etc.. and vioula there u go.

the water issue sounds like the dude sealed up the drainage holes?

you've prob figured out its a loose weather seal, but removing the door panel is pretty easy and quick, assuming you have a 7th gen i've noticed its a bit stiffer when pulling the interior panel off, compared to 6th gen....also be careful when pulling off the black triangle piece where the mirror is, the plastic clip is easy to break

the drainage holes are fine.

i will try to remove the panels this afternoon though. how much would it cost to replace the weather seals?

so i can't get past the first step... removing the little panel thing from behind the door handle. it just won't come out... none of my screwdrivers are small enough to fit and i just ended up disfiguring the plastic.

i'll try again tomorrow with some jewelers' tools.

i've only pulled 4th-6th gen panels off but im assuming you just pull the door handle in a certain direction (i.e. left or right) and it will slide out from the metal rod. you shouldnt need to stick a screw driver through or anything.

i dunno but its worth a shot
