Hello.

I have some problems with mi ecu. A friend of mine chip my ecu, the ecu is a p29, the setup is this:

D16a9 (dohc d-series) turbo 10psi, 240cc inyectors, walbro 255lph, fuel rail presure 45psi, stock map sensor, everything else is stock.

My friend sent me with the ecu chipped with three diferent maps, one for 440cc inyectors, and the other maps he did a conversion to my 240cc inyectors, he use crome software.

The problem is this, when i turn the car on with any of these map the car smokes black too much, wont past from 4000k, and do many backfires at 4000k very loud.

The strange thing is that i removed the J1 brigde to use the stock map again to test and the car run the same.

What could be happen here?

I Alredy put new spark plugs, another tps, another sensor map, and the car still runing the same with the stock map.

Thanks.

If the car ran fine when you sent the ecu out and it is throwing a solid check engine light when you jump the service connector.. your ecu is fried.

um ecu isnt fried. sounds like its just running super rich. you need to get it tuned asap.

The car was runing perfect with the stock map, that was before sending the ecu to be chiped, the problem started when the ecu was chiped.

But, how could i be runing super rich if i am runing right now with the stock map? when you take off the jumper at J1 the ecu will run the stock map again correct? or not?

I have try the three maps that he sent me and with all three does the same thing, wont past 4000k, many backfires and flames very loud, the revs go up very slow and the car wont past from 50mph.

What could be my solution? Is my ecu fried or what is hapening?

thanks again.

not sure about crome, but on hondata there is something called limp mode, where if there is a serious problem detected the car will run extremely rich, and wont rev past 3k rpm. Sounds like a limp mode on chrome possibly, the fireballs thing is from unburnt fuel being ignited randomly in the exhaust, from running rich. has to be some sort of problem with the maps.

OK, this could be happening with the three crome maps, but why still happening with the stock map? that is what i dont understand. I took off the J1 bridge and i took out the 28 pin chip (with the crome map) right now the ecu is back to stock.

get ahold of a virgin stock ecu (the *stock* map could still be different) and hook it up, if the problem persists then its something with the car, if it runs perfectly fine on a normal non chipped stock ecu, then its something that went wrong with the chipping. let us know.
