My new hoopty... 1994 Del Sol.

Paint is in terrible condition (looks like a Maaco job... plus hail damage), and the interior needs some TLC... but the engine is cherry... no transmissions grinds or anything.

Going to be changing back to the OEM front bumper, and tail lights, repainting the car white, and adding a CarbonFiber hood, TargaTop Replacement, and Carbon Fiber trunklid.

The exhaust currently on it is stock with a straight through muffler... no performance value what so ever.
The guy I picked it up from knew nothing about car performance... so nearly nothing has been touched as far as performance enhancing parts.. so I've got a clean slate to work from..
Here are some pics...

More to come...

Yeah... the hail damage is only really bad on the trunk lid... which is the reason for a carbon fiber trunk lid... that metal is like paper thin on the trunk, so fixing it is out of the question.
Most of the paint job looks like they didn't prep the car at all before it was repainted... like they barely cleaned down the previous paint and then taped the lights and windows and sprayed the new paint right on top of the old.... when I repaint I'm going to strip it down to the metal and start from there and work my way up the right way.

View my other Car from the link in my profile... I think you'll agree I'm up to the challenge =)

As for the front bumper... I'm not sure what exactly it is... the word "Showoff" is at the bottom on the drivers side... but I hate fiberglass bumpers.. they're crap... I'm putting an OEM one back on w/ carbon fiber lip once I get around to it.

Picked it up for a fairly good price... had no rims, and no sound system what so ever broken window, non functioning power door locks. But like I said before, I bought it for the engine and the chassis, which is in as good of condition as they come. Brand new KYB adjustable shocks, skunk2 coilovers... no camber at all.

The car is the Del Sol VTEC model.... B16A stock 8)... engine was untouched. No leaks, runs perfect, no transmission grinds... I was thinking to myself when I got the car "Finally, a car I don't have to swap a new engine into." I'm just going to have it rebuilt.. going to stay completely N/A.
Previous vehicles I've had that I've had to swap the engines out... 1991 Accord w/H22A I swapped in, 1998 Civic EX w/GSR I swapped in, and most recently 1991 Civic hatchback with SOHC VTEC I swapped in.

Everyone's entitled to his or her own opinion.
But the black paint can be considered gone, as soon as I have time to sand it down and primer it (black is not practicle for Texas heat). Current paint is shitty anyways, pits and chips everywhere.
White paint, OEM front bumper, CF front lip, CF hood, CF top, CF trunk, blue interior, silver 15" Konig Heliums... that's all that's in store for the cars looks.
As for performance, there'd be A LOT to list...but it is going to be rebuilt and it is going to stay N/A 8)
