and made s**t for power. not to make excuses, but im not surprised- the head gasket was blown, my downpipe is just plain crappy, and i only was able to make 3 passes before i blew coolant all over the dyno. and i won the prize for hugest smoke cloud too lol. next stop, complete rebuild. i did feel cool though, i managed to spin my tires on the dyno.

no vht on the tires, it was oil from the blown head gasket getting on them. i pretty much knew the car was gonna get f**ked up, the thing had been overheating and losing coolant for a few weeks, as well as leaking some oil. setup is a turbonetics t3/4 ..50/.48, log manni, 2.25" dp/2" cat (one problem), b18c1 wtih a blown head gasket and possibly bad rings, precision 440's, tuned on uberdata by yours truly. that was definitely the limit, i upped the boost from 7 pounds to 9 lbs, and i lost hp (went to 203 whp from 209). if the motor isnt too f**ked, i should have it fixed in a few weeks, with a 3" dp, new headgasket, and probably some 550's, im shooting for 250-260whp.

250 should be easily attainable given a good motor and your "new" setup....goodluck

you knew it would blow but ran it anyway?

yup. i needed an excuse to rebuild it, and i really wanted to know what it would put down, and i had already paid for the trip, so why the hell not?

are you going to do anything else to the engine besides just repairing whats broke? i dont know if you already mentioned that or not, but i dont ever remember reading if you were building up the motor as well as boost, or just boosting a mostly stock engine....

just curious is all :thumbs up
hope the rebuild goes smoothly

gonna keep the bottom end stock. even with 200 whp, i still had massive traction problems, and theres no way im going to need more than 280 whp or so, which is definitely achieveable on stock gsr internals. if theres more work involved than just pulling the head (and i may, i have a sneaking suspicion the rings may be shot) then perhaps i will throw in some forged internals and up the boost some more. it really depends on time, money, and what i find when i rip it open.
