So I wanted to buy a civic. What year should I get? I want t to be quick but I can mod it so it doesn't need to be a si. It also has to be 2002+ for year and under 10k any suggestions? I have money to upgrade the looks and stuff but I wanna start under 10

Does it have to be a civic?
Maybe RSX?

But for under 10k id say save a little more and get an 8th gen 4 door si.

^Agreed, Either go 8th gen Si or pick a different kind of civic if you want something "quick."If you save a couple hundred you could definitely pull a RSX-S or maybe even an S2k If you want to stay honda. But I see WRX's go for around $10k so I'd go looking for something like that lol

Well actually if you have some real engine experience you could probably grab a 7th gen civic and drop a k20 into it for that price. Assuming you can do all the work yourself

Well yeah it has to be a civic, i want to mod a car, but that requires turbo and not a supercharger if oyu know what i mean. when i say quick i mean i have a 96 mustang that i am making into a 1/4 mile car, this car i want to drive around alot but also have some stuff under the hood. Also i want it tolook really nice, this car will be more for looks than speed. I really like the em1 and ej9. Leaning more towards the EM1. but are they good to get? i dont really like the newer honda's as much as the 2000 style.

Also i was looking at wrx cause i love them ha but they dont get as good as gas milage which is something im looking for, but not super important. I've always just loved thelook of the hondas and i have a couple of body kits and tires stuff like that i want to through on the car. I just wasnt sure if the em1 or ej8s were good or what.

Thx for the quick replies btw everyone

Yea throw the whole bodykit idea out the window that s**t was lame 12 years ago. Again what do you mean by good? They get great mileage, they are way cheaper to mod than newer civics and cheaper to purchase to begin with. You say you want quick but what do you mean exactly, you need a power goal for us to help you with that.

Oh I thought u said it has to be year 2002+ Well yeah get an EM1 then. Thats your best bet if you want something quick but don't want to have to do a swap.

Vague threads like this where the OP has 0 clue are ridiculously lame and hard to answer. Most of the time, just confusing the person more.

Take some initiative, research and come up with some specific goals other than being "quick".
Any 92-00 Civic or 90-01 Integra would be a "good" platform to start off with.

My friend used to own a 06 WRX pushing almost 400awhp and he got 29-31mpg on the highway.... People don't understand that it all depends on how you drive. When he had it, he stayed out of boost 95% of the time, which is how he got such high gas mileage. Even city driving he got mid 20's. He is very easy on his cars.

Get what you want. EM1's are thief magnets. S2000's are great cars and can be very fun in the snow but I believe FWD cars get better traction in snow compared to RWD. Evo's are great cars and compared to WRX's, I've read they are cheaper for dollar per horsepower. Mugen Si is just a retarded car to buy unless you're a collector. No one wants to spend $30,000+ for a Honda Civic. I personally think the 99-00 Civic Coupe is the best looking Civic, next to the 06-11 Civic Si Sedan.

I absolutely LOVE my EM1!!!!!!!!!!!!! even if you kept the motor all stock and added intake w/manifold, headers and cat-back, short throw shifter and stiffen the suspension and add a tune, you will get a nice sporty feel. To compare to your mustang though you may want to throw a small turbo on but that would require alot more work. I cannot complain about my car at all. Bought it with 160K miles and have not had anything seriously wrong with it. Had to replace the radiator and shocks but other than that it was good to go. I have had it for 3 years now and have 220K. Its still going strong. My vote is definitely EM1 EM1 EM1!!!!!!!
