Ok, don't flame me but... I'm about half way threw my b18 build, but after 12k on my swapped engine (I put in another d15b7 in). It's starting to smoke and loose power in the upper rpm range (bad piston rings). I'm shootin for 300whp on a 10.8:1 cp. What kind of turbo should I get? t3 50 trim is perfect but, doesn't seem too common. Or a to4e 50 trim but, it's only in the 75% effeciency island. It's a very common turbo, if I'm wrong let me know.

its only in the 75% efficiency island.... that is about perfect..

Simple answer get a t3/t04e 50-60 trim. .63 a/r exhaust and you will be set

i applaud you for that man, when/if you pull it off with that high of a compression ratio, let me know, i'll be proud of you young grasshopper. you should of had an 8-9:1 ratio, but if you have the nuts, go for it.

If you think about it, so for example: at TDC, the c/p is 109 psi (I just made up the numbers) and it creates 300whp. In order to get their, you a: 9:1 cp + 18psi (436 cfm) = 300 whp or b: 10.8:1 + 12 psi (400 cfm) = 300 whp. Wouldn't you still have the same detonation factors?

run the numbers on this. fully built B18C1 with 11:1 compression with nitrous. then why did his cylinder head go kablamo when he never used the nitrous, and wasn't always revving the f**k out of it? (this was not his idiocy, guy that sold him the car didn't tell him the exact engine mods).

The factor dealing with here is detonation, retarding timming and dumping plenty of fuel usualy keeps it from happening. Or water/alcohol injection is pretty cool too. But, 11:1 cr? There's engines up to 12.8:1 cp that are reliable?

I think you need to reread the previous post where it says "when he never used the nitrous"

There are some retarded posts in this thread.

Bottom line, you will be just fine with that compression ratio. Take it to the tuner, get what you can on pump gas, and go home. But don't push the limit unless you want to run race gas on the street.

it's called learning by example. whether it's your own or someone else's. i'm just letting the guy know what happened to my friends car. just because it has nothing to do directly doesn't mean it's retarded or useless. yeah, no one car is the same, i'm just saying one thing about a sort of similar setup.
