i have a b18b1 swap with a gsr trans have everything but the harness, i have motor tranny ecu shift linkage axles etc. just dont have a harness i have a 98 civic hx and the kid said to me the ecu he gave me will plug directly into my harness and it will work for the b18. is that correct? i know i have an egr valve and i currently have the VTEC- Type E which the b18 has neither so will my hx harness work. just trying to figure it out before i attempt it thanks,

Assuming your ECU and motor are OBD2, you should be fine with the stock harness. Also ECU should plug right in. It has 4 little blocks for plugs, right? OBD2 uses 4, whereas OBDI only has 3. I have my y7 harness in my car still with my B18. I went from y7 to y8 to B18 with the same harness, you may have to extend the TPS wires and modify the IACV wires, but otherwise you should be fine. :thumbs up

Thank you sir how hard is it to modify the wires? Also I know I won't be using my egr valve but the ecu it came with shouldn't throw a cel cus it doesn't have an egr I believe but thank you for the info
