What have I got?

I ordered a JDM B16A conversion kit from Noyan Inc. http://www.noyanusa.com and what I got is a B16A2 with gold lettering on the valve cover, the throttle body rivetted on, and the motor had evaporative emission system. The computer is P30. I had a friend call a few numbers and he said that the motor is CHINESE! Can anyone verify this? Or did I pay JDM price for a USDM engine?

Also, the "conversion kit" didn't include axles or shift linkage, and the man at Noyan told me I'd be able to drive it right out of the box.

When I contacted Noyan they said that the motor IS in fact JDM, and said I'm trying to accuse them of ripping me off. This motor is not from Japan. Maybe China. Please, anyone who knows anything about Chinese engines explain this to me. I need to know if this motor will push the same HP and torque as the JDM.

Now, should I keep the motor and fight for my axles and shift linkage, or should I just send the motor back and request a refund since they sent me the wrong motor? How can I get them to cooperate?

I also posted thread cdm? in the newbie forum.

ok whats the exact block stamp, because if its a b16a2, its a usdm motor obd2. but a p30 ecu is a obd1 b16a ecu. ive never heard of a gold lettering on a valve cover, that may or may not be stock, it could have been from the previous owner of the motor. pics would help. how much did you pay for the swap? i would certainly fight for those items at the least, or send it back. problem is most places dont give refunds. http://www.noyanusa.com/motorsFAQ.html it says here that it doesnt come with axles, mounts, or shift linkage, so i think your s**t outta luck. i have no idea what a chinese motor would be, sorry. sounds like you got ripped.

The fact that they sent the wrong motor may be on my side. That at least has to be guaranteed. I'm going to tell them that they sent the wrong motor, but I'll forgive it if (and only if) they send the rest of the pieces that the guy promised me over the phone. Otherwise they have to take the motor back.

the b16a2 is in fact a jdm motor, it's the motor that honda stuffed into the sir-II, or commonlly know as the 92-95 civic hatchbach.
