i been thinking of doing a turbo to my b16. still trying to figure wat tranny i want, rather LS, B16, or GSR.
so i been looking into AEM and saw their EMS. also herd of hondata.. now hondata is designed for honda but ill be using mainly SKUNK2 and AEM parts. ill be getting all AEM guages and was just wondering witch would be better to run.. i plan to run a vtec controller and a boost controller. i can buy a labtop to leave in the car to change... any input?? price is about 400 bucks difference

A lot of people choose a b16 transmission over LS, B16>GSR>LS

some people throw in the Ls 5th gear for better gas mileage...

I would highly recommend using hondata, either hondata s200 or hondata s300.. s300 has boost option in every gear unlike s200, it will allow you to gain traction by setting the boost.. my buddy has it and its great...

Also a majority of the tuners use hondata, its the mostly used tuning system because its efficient and easy to come by...

Hondata s300 can control a boost solenoid on its own if the ecu has the proper components installed (about $10 worth plus the solenoid). eCtune can do this as well.

You wont need a vtec controller either, as s300 (and basically any tuning software can adjust this for you). I would look on Hondata's site so you can see everything the unit can do. Keep in mind that there are other options for tuning as well (such as eCtune, Crome, etc).

Also, s200 is no longer in production so s300 is probably your only real option from Hondata.

Hondata S300, Crome Pro/Gold, Neptune, eCtune all great platforms that allow fuel, timing, vtec, boost, ect to be controlled.

AEM is nice but honestly in most case over kill for the average person and way more expensive.
